Bad Cover Art: Mansfield Park

Mansfield Park by Jane Austen

Why is this bad cover art?  It’s taken a culturally significant work and reduced it to the status of your common harlequin novel.  The cover art, with lacey writing, pink cover, and vaguely heart-shaped stones, is more appropriate for Here Kitty, Kitty than for Mansfield Park.  And that is why this is bad cover art.

Those are stones? They look like tiny paper cutouts. And, it kind of looks like “Jane Austen” is the title of the book.

At least “Mansfield Park” wasn’t on the cover of “Here Kitty, Kitty”. Methinks Edmund could no longer be a clergyman…

All I have to say is: Why that blinding shade of pink?

….It’s pink…..with a suckily drawn harpy thing…and it looks like Mrs. Flinstone’s necklace was the model for this books border. -.- Honestly.
