Challenge Corner #10 – One, Two, Three
This Sunday just past, I was checking on Writing Gooder (trying to remember whether I’d already written a draft of this week’s post – uni does funny things to my memory sometimes), when I noticed that we’d hit a kind of milestone. It’s not a milestone that gets a lot of hype, but it’s one that appeals to me – we had our one hundred and twenty-third post – making the total number 123.
So, naturally, when it turned out I hadn’t written that draft after all, I decided to craft this week’s challenge around that milestone! Remember that time I gave you two choices for everything? Well, this is going to be similar, except – you guessed it – there’ll be three options! Here you go:
– ONE: Write a piece that includes a small pig at a market.
– TWO: Write a piece that includes turtle doves.
– THREE: Write a piece that includes mice, which may or may not be blind.
Side note: technically, turtle doves look like this, but I will probably love you forever if you use turtle-dove hybrids instead.
If you’re confused now, this is the short version of the rambling above: Pick a number between one and three, and write something based on the challenge next to that number. Simple, right? Go!
Or… don’t go just yet. We have super bonus options to give you first! And this is how they are going to work: Take the number you chose above, and where the super bonus option says [NUMBER], put the number you chose in there.
+ Bonus Points: Have strangely many objects and/or animals and/or people turning up in sets of [NUMBER].
++ Double Bonus Points: Do the challenge twice, with a different number each time.
+++ Triple Bonus Points: Do the challenge three times!
++++ Quadruple Bonus Points With Cookies: Also write a fourth piece with the requirements for ONE, TWO and THREE.
For example, I want to do the Bonus Points option, and I chose TWO for my number. So I write a piece about turtle doves, where a lot of things keep turning up in pairs. Remember, super bonus options are just that – optional – so you can choose how much you want to challenge yourself!
Best of luck!
